April 20, 2018 Nickelsville VA –- Twin Springs used an 8-run fourth-inning to defeat the Blue Devils 13 to 3 on Friday in a Cumberland District match-up. Josh Reed smacked two doubles, a triple, and scored the game-clinching run leading the Titans to the win. Pitcher Tanner Dingus fanned 5 and scattered 6 hits, picking up the win.

Alex Lambert doubled and scored for Castlewood. Gunnar Jessee singled and drove in a run for the Blue Devils. Devin Robinson took the loss.
Reed put the Titans on the board in the bottom of the first inning with a double to right that scored John Lane. In the home second, Twin Springs loaded the bases with two outs. Reed cleared the bases with a drive to left field, scoring Lane, Austin McAmis, and Dylan Austin. Alex Lambert led off the top of the third inning with a double and gave Castlewood their first run coming in to score behind Ethan Capaldi’s RBI.
The Blue Devils added another run in the top of the fourth inning when Jonah Cornett, Lambert, and Isaiah Artrip each walked. Cornett made the score 4 to 2 scoring on Nick Deboard’s base hit. Base hits by Reed, Austin, and Conner Gilmer, along with walks given to McAmis and Corbin Kilgore led to the 8-run home fourth that for the Titans that made the score 12 to 2.
Capaldi led off the fifth frame for Castlewood, reaching base when he was hit by a pitch. Jessee’s base hit scored Capaldi, keeping the Blue Devils in the game. Reed led off the bottom of the fifth, reaching on an error. With one out, Kilgore’s groundout to shortstop sent Reed home with the game winning run.
