April 20, 2018 Twin Springs—The Lady Titans got past Cumberland District rival Castlewood 5 to 1 Friday.

Baylie Compton paced the Lady Titans with two hits and a run scored. She also drove in a run. Chenoa Dean carded two hits and scored a run. Belle Austin added a double and a single. Aubrey Powers struck out 9 and gave up 7 hits, taking the win for the Lady Titans.

Amy Taylor had a big game for the Lady Devils with three hits and a run scored. Janakay Kiser added two hits (1 double) and drove in a run. Gracie Hicks took the loss.

Amy Taylor singled with 1 out in the top of the first inning for the Lady Devils. Janakay Kiser gave Castlewood a 1 to 0 lead, driving in Taylor with a double to right field. In the bottom of the first inning, hits by Baylie Compton and Emaleigh Powers tied the score for the Lady Titans.

With the score tied and one out in the bottom of the fourth inning, Chenoa Dean singled, giving Twin Springs’ runners at first and second. A wild pitch allowed the runners to move to second and third. Lauren Duncan’s sacrifice fly drove in Aubrey Powers, giving the Lady Titans the lead. A Lady Devils’ error and a base hit by Alyssa McCracken gave Twin Springs a 4 to 1 advantage.

The Lady Devils rallied in the top of the 5th inning when Amy Taylor singled and Samantha Gray was safe on an error. Aubrey Powers stopped the rally getting the third out on a pop-up to first base.

The Lady Titans scored an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth inning with a hit by Lauren Duncan and a run- scoring single by Baylie Compton. Gracie Hicks led off the Castlewood seventh with a base hit. The Lady Titans retired the next three Castlewood batters in order for the win.

Castlewood scored 1 run on 7 hits and committed 3 errors. Twin Springs scored 5 runs on 9 hits and committed 2 errors.
