St. Paul, VA – The Shreds and Patches Theater Project will perform “Tuck Everlasting” on Thursday, Sept. 3rd at 7 p.m. at Lyric Theatre in St. Paul. The performance is free and open to all and brought to you in conjunction with Pro-Art’s 50th season. What would you do if you had all eternity? Trapped by the rules imposed by her straitlaced family, ten-year-old Winnie Foster yearns for a life of adventure beyond her white picket fence, but not until she becomes unexpectedly entwined with the Tuck Family does she get more than she could have imagined. When Winnie learns of the magic behind the Tuck’s unending youth, she must fight to protect their secret from those who would do anything for a chance at eternal life. As her adventure unfolds, Winnie faces an extraordinary choice: drink the immortal water and join the Tuck’s in an everlasting adventure—or live on in a natural way, living a life full of the ordinary beauty of growth and change.

The Shreds & Patches Theater Project is a partnership between the Pro-Art Association and The University of Virginia’s College at Wise. The Project pairs theater professionals with college student-apprenticeships to create accessible, live theater performances to tour regional school districts in Central Appalachia. The Project is dedicated to rediscovering the promise of live theater to undo expectation, arouse festivity and sew community through playful imagining and meaningful reflection.
