Wise, VA – Kick off the new semester with an evening of live music in downtown Wise! Whether you’re new to UVA Wise, returning to campus or part of the greater UVA Wise community, this is a great chance to relax, connect and enjoy a summer evening together. The Jason Cale Band and Adam Bohanan will perform on Thursday, August 20th from 6 to 8:30 PM at Big Glades Amphitheater. The concert is free and open to all. The Jason Cale Band brings a fresh, fearless sound they call swampfunk, a rich blend of soulful blues-rock, gritty New Orleans funk, and jazz fusion, cooked into a musical gumbo that’s all their own. The Jason Cale Band is Jeffrey Saunders on sax and keys, Jacques Jones and Donnell Smith on bass, Edward Williams on drums, and Jason Cale on vocals and guitar. The Jason Cale Band will take the stage at 6 PM.
The Voice semifinalist Adam Bohanan is a Black and Jewish Twin Cities based musician and songwriter who tours nationwide. His music draws from soul, jazz, funk, and R&B. Adam will perform in Wise with his band, featuring Pete James Johnson on drums, Theo Brown on keys, and Matthew Gilmartin on bass. Adam Bohanan and his band will take the Big Glades stage at 7:25 PM.
