Mrs. Alene Ramsey HensonMrs. Alene Ramsey Henson, 93, born in  Russell Co. and last of Delaware, passed away on May 8, 2018 with two of her children and daughter-in-law by her side.
Alene was the eldest daughter of Homer and Nancy Edwards Ramsey. She was predeceased by her husband James Hugh Henson, a daughter Connie Marie, and a son Robert “Bobby” Henson. Also predeceasing her were two grandsons, Thomas and James Henson.
Mrs. Henson had been employed as a City School Crossing Guard for the Wilmington, DE Police Dept, a position of which she was extremely proud. She was also a skilled seamstress and made several friends with her sewing skills.
Although she moved from Russell County several years ago, she visited her family here as much as she could.
Alene’s brothers, Franklin “Dee”, Samuel, and Tom Ramsey passed before her, but she was still blessed with her sisters Ginnie (Gene) Perry of Bristol, and Virgie Burkett Sloan of Clinchco. She is also survived by her children, Betty Lou Bishop (Phil) of St. Paul, James of Delaware, Kelly (Barbara), and Michelle Henson, all of Elkton, as well as her daughters Martha and Nancy.  She leaves behind several grandchildren, Cathy, DeWayne,  Jessica, Dawson, Robyn; and great grandchildren Courtney, Lowell, Morgan, and Langston.
While burial arrangements were private, we would like to thank everyone for all the condolences and thoughtful expressions of sympathy for the loss of our Mother.
