THE STAFF OF THE HEALTH WAGON is thrilled to announce the grand opening of St. Mary’s Faith Pharmacy, the Appalachian region’s very first free and charitable pharmacy! This groundbreaking initiative by the Health Wagon aims to provide vital medications and healthcare resources to those in need, ensuring that everyone has access to the essential medicines they deserve.

Why St. Mary’s Faith Pharmacy Matters

Located in the heart of our community, St. Mary’s Faith Pharmacy will serve as a beacon of hope for many who face barriers to accessing affordable medication. It is spearheaded by Pharmacist Dr. Jennifer Hammons, PharmD, and is located at the Health Wagon office, 5626 Patriot Drive in Wise, Virginia. • Support Community Health: Working alongside local healthcare providers to improve overall health outcomes.

St. Mary’s Faith Pharmacy has hit the ground running, offering the following:

  • Free & reduced-cost medications
  • Telehealth consultations
  • Point-of-care testing
  • Medication reduction therapy
  • Chronic care management
  • Advanced diabetes center

Empowering Youth with Overdose Awareness

In addition, we partnered with J.I. Burton High School to provide Narcan training and overdose awareness education to 142 students. These young leaders learned how to recognize signs of an overdose and properly administer Narcan, equipping them with critical tools to save lives.

We also observed Overdose Awareness Day by hosting community-wide Narcan training sessions. These events aimed to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and empower community members to act during overdose emergencies.
