RAGA RHYTHMS AT THE JETTIE BAKER CENTER

Clintwood, VA – Master percussionist/multi-instrumentalist Tom Teasley and flutist John Wubbenhorst present a fusion of world music on Friday, Sept. 27th at 7 p.m. at the Jettie Baker Center in Clintwood. Informed by Tom’s multiple tours as a cultural envoy for the U.S. Department of State and John’s deep knowledge and experience of Indian classical music and jazz harmony, “Raga Rhythms” offers a coalescence of Indian and jazz music. The duo utilizes raga (from Sanskrit, meaning “color” or “passion”), one of the ancient traditional melodic patterns in Indian music that provides a framework for improvisation and composition. Tickets are $10 at the door. Children and students will be admitted free. This performance is brought to you by the Pro-Art Association in conjunction with the Town of Clintwood.
