Calvary Baptist Church During Construction — 1973

These Clinch Valley Times archival photos date from 1973. As you can see, construction was moving along smoothly…until the walls began to collapse, and the roof trusses began to fall. Although several workers were injured, no one was killed. The church members vowed to rebuild, and that’s what they did.

Calvary Baptist Church at Gravel Lick is still going strong today and continues to serve its members and its community.
