Dante – Community Christmas Traditions, Then & Now…

THE DANTE COMMUINITY CHRISTMAS PARADE took place on the afternoon of December 8, 2018.  Children of all ages participated in the happy occasion.  Check out the photos below – you may see yourself, your families, or your friends.

Oganized by the Dante First Assembly of God, the theme of this year’s parade was “The Love of Christ-Mas.”

Now let’s take a stroll down memory lane and recall two special Dante Christmases of years gone by.  The first memory is a distribution of Christmas treats by the Clinchfield Coal Corp. at the Clinchfield Inn.   The year was 1949.  Were you there?

The second Dante Christmas memory is from 1985.  It was a cold, snowy day but that didn’t matter.  A sizeable crowd turned out to see Santa arrive by train and to enjoy Christmas fellowship with their neighbors.  Look closely – you just may see a more youthful version of yourself!
