
Cole Harness’ groundout to second base scored Noah Rasnick with the Spartans first run of the afternoon. Drew Richards doubled and Dakota Moore singled coming in to score on Peyton Pope’s drive to right center field. Eastside held a 3 to 0 lead ending the first inning.

The Spartans exploded for 9 runs in the third inning, sending 13 batters to the plate. Cole Harness chalked up 2 hits and drove in 2 runs in the inning. Peyton Pope, Logan Porter, Seth Boles, Adam Ketron, Noah Rasnick, and Drew Richards (2RBI) also had hits in the inning.

In the top of the fourth inning, Castlewood’s Jonah Cornett stroked a 1-out base hit to left center field. Devin Robinson and Ethan Capaldi took free passes loading the bases for the Blue Devils. Austin Rittenberry worked out of the jam getting a force out, at home, and a strikeout to end the inning.

Nathan Hughes led off the top of the fifth inning with a base hit for Castlewood. Seth Boles, who came on in relief of Austin Rittenberry, closed out the win recording three groundouts.
