Beloved Appalachian Holiday Tradition Returns for 83rd Run
KINGSPORT, Tenn. – It’s official: The CSX Santa Train will make its 83rd run on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025!
Following its traditional path taken through Appalachia since 1943, the train will embark on a 110-mile journey from Shelbiana, KY, to Kingsport, TN, spreading an abundance of holiday cheer while delivering more than 15 tons of toys, gifts, and winter accessories to thousands of families.

“What makes the CSX Santa Train special isn’t the miles it covers, but the moments and memories it creates for families. We’re touched by the generations of families who gather to welcome the CSX Santa Train year after year and by the overwhelming support it receives across the country,” said Bryan Tucker, vice president of stakeholder engagement and sustainability at CSX.
