Russell County Fair 2018

The Annual Russell County Fair and Horse Show opened Monday September 3 with the judging of the Home Ec, Agricultural, and Art Exhibits.

Pictured above is a Jacob Sheep. The Jacob is a British breed of sheep with patches of dark and white wool. A second characteristic, uncommon is most sheep, are their multiple horns, usually a set of 4.

Pictured below are several of the exhibits in the Home Ec, Agricultural, and Art categories, along with photos of Ole McDonald’s Farm.

The week-long fair is packed with a full list of events from the pet agility contest Monday morning to the King of the Hill Tractor Pull Saturday evening.

Highlights of the event include music each night provided by various groups from the region, the Carnival Midway, Ole McDonald’s Farm  and the Annual Horse Show.
